EROAD CEO Steven Newman steps down
EROAD CEO Steven Newman resigned with immediate effect on Friday 8 April and Mark Heine, General Counsel at EROAD has stepped in as acting CEO.
Steven has dedicated 17 years to growing EROAD from a small New Zealand start up to the global company it is today.
Steven and the Board have been working together on a succession plan since 2020 and began a CEO search at that time. This was put on hold during the COVID-19 pandemic but began again late last year. The Board has been meeting with potential candidates over the past several months and have developed a shortlist. They plan to make an appointment in the first half of 2022.
Over the last few years, EROAD has made great progress as a business under the leadership of Steven and the wider Executive Team. The business remains strong, and has continued to deliver new innovations such as the Clarity Dashcam and Satellite Communications despite the many impacts of the pandemic. The integration with Coretex, which EROAD successfully acquired in December, will bring many exciting product updates this year and into the future.
Steven leaves EROAD in good shape, with incredible talent across the 640+ team, as well as a strong leadership bench who will lead the company through its next phase of growth. With the process for his replacement in good shape, Steven has decided to take some time to recharge and focus on his family after an intense few years.
